Century Home Program

Order a plaque for your home!

General: This program recognizes publicly those homes in the immediate area whose age is at least 100 years old.

Application: Fill out the application form below and present proof of the age of your home to the South Euclid—Lyndhurst Historical Society.

Eligibility: Any 100-year-old home within the confines of South Euclid, Lyndhurst, or near-by communities is eligible to be so designated. The person making application shall show documented proof to the South Euclid Historical Society that the home in question is at least 100 years old. The Cuyahoga County Archives or a real estate form on the County Financial Officer’s web site can provide this proof. The home is allowed to have had additions or improvements which would make the home more livable or endurable. Aluminum siding is allowed. The intent is to honor any century-old structure whether or not improvements have been made. Architectural purity is not a factor which we are in a position to judge.


Award: The South Euclid Historical Society will present to the qualifying applicant a plaque upon payment of its cost. The presentation may be done any way deemed suitable by both the Society and the homeowner. We would prefer either making the presentation at our next bi-monthly membership meeting or in front of the home; however, this is optional.


Implementation: The Society will appoint a director for the Century Home Program who will keep files containing the proof of age of the home, the date of presentation to the applicant, and the applicants name and address. Photos and other data may be added if so desired.

Please submit the form below to order your plaque. The plaque is 16 inches wide by 12 inches tall, is made from heavy outdoor plastic, and has the year your home was built. Plaque can be either white lettering milled into black plastic background or black lettering similarly chiseled into white background.
